Operating Room Technician / Surgical Tech Travel Assignment in Portland, Oregon
Travel Surgical Tech opportunity in Portland, OR: join a fast-paced adult acute care operating room for a 13-week assignment with 12-hour day shifts, broad case variety, and hands-on experience in a high-acuity surgical setting.

- End Date: January 18, 2027
- Shift Duration: 12-hour day shifts
- Schedule: Day shift, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,660 – $1,780
- Call Coverage: On-call and weekend coverage required
- Work Environment: Busy OR with a broad case mix and advanced surgical procedures
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of Operating Room Technician or Surgical Tech experience required
- NBSTSA certification required; surgical technologist certification or military-trained background accepted
- BLS certification required
- Travel Surgical Technologist experience required
- Strong knowledge of surgical equipment, sterile technique, and OR workflow
- Experience with endovascular or hybrid room cases preferred
- Comfort supporting a broad range of adult surgical specialties
- Ability to support call shifts, weekend coverage, and a dynamic operating room schedule
- Experience with Intuitive Surgical Systems XI and SI is highly valued
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain the sterile field for surgical procedures
- Set up instruments, supplies, and equipment for a wide variety of adult surgical cases
- Assist surgeons and the surgical team during procedures with efficiency and professionalism
- Support cases across specialties including bariatrics, orthopedics, ENT, GYN, general surgery, colorectal, urology, vascular, thoracic, plastics, and endovascular
- Work with advanced surgical technology, including robotic surgery systems
- Manage case carts, scopes, fiber optic equipment, and high-level disinfection processes as needed
- Maintain a strong focus on patient safety, workflow, and operating room readiness
- Respond to on-call and weekend needs in support of OR department coverage
