• Hours Per Week: 36 hours, with an option to discuss 48-hour coverage
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,810 – $1,940
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
• Holiday Coverage: Every other holiday
• Orientation: 16 hours
• Schedule Style: Self-scheduling model with team coordination

Job Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience required
• Level IV NICU experience required
• Cardiac PICU experience preferred
• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required
• BLS and NRP required
• Virginia state respiratory therapy license required; pending license accepted if temporary licensure can be secured before start
• ACCS preferred
• Experience working with neonates, infants, pediatrics, and adolescents
• Comfort working in a multidisciplinary, fast-paced hospital environment
• Ability to float within scope of practice as needed
• Competency with advanced neonatal and pediatric respiratory equipment, including Bunnell Jet Ventilator and HFOV 3100A

Responsibilities

• Provide expert respiratory care for neonatal, pediatric, and critical care patients in a hospital environment
• Support care in NICU, PICU, high-risk delivery, and acute care pediatric units
• Perform and assist with intubation, extubation, airway support, and ventilator management
• Set up and manage aerosol therapies, CPAP/BiPAP, HFNC, and other advanced respiratory modalities
• Interpret ABGs and respond to changing patient conditions with sound clinical judgment
• Assist with neonatal transports and inter-departmental patient movement when needed
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and respiratory services to deliver safe, high-quality patient care
• Maintain strong communication, critical thinking, and adaptability throughout all assigned units
• Work every other weekend and every other holiday in support of patient care needs
