• Position: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• Employment Type: Travel assignment
• Duration: 26 weeks
• Start Date: 10/12/2026
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts
• Schedule: 36 or 48 hours per week
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,810 – $1,940
• Setting: Children’s hospital with NICU, PICU, high-risk deliveries, and acute care pediatrics
• Coverage: Every other weekend and every other holiday
• Scheduling: Self-scheduling model
• Location: Charlottesville, VA 22908

Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of respiratory therapy experience required
• Current RRT certification required
• BLS and NRP required
• Virginia state license required; pending license may be accepted if obtained before the start date and another state license is held
• Strong NICU experience required; Level IV NICU experience required
• Experience providing respiratory care in pediatric critical care and multidisciplinary settings
• ACCS preferred
• PALS preferred
• Ability to work night shifts and participate in weekend/holiday coverage

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy services for neonates, infants, pediatric, and adolescent patients across multiple hospital units
• Support NICU, PICU, high-risk deliveries, and acute care pediatric patients with evidence-based respiratory care
• Set up and manage aerosol therapy, CPAP/BiPAP, HFNC, and ventilator support
• Assist with intubation, extubation, ABG interpretation, suctioning, and tracheostomy care
• Manage neonatal transports and support respiratory care during interdepartmental transfers
• Operate advanced respiratory equipment, including the Bunnell Jet Ventilator and HFOV 3100A
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to deliver safe, high-quality patient care
• Float within scope of practice as needed and contribute to a high-performing pediatric care team
