• Shift: Night shift, 4×12-hour schedule (19:00 – 07:00)
• Shifts Per Week: 4
• Shift Duration: 12 hours
• Weekly Hours: 36 or 48 hours available
• Weekend/Holiday Expectations: Every other weekend and every other holiday; must work 2 of the 3 winter holidays
• Orientation: 16 hours

Job Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience required
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
• BLS and NRP required
• Virginia respiratory therapist license required; pending license may be considered if a temporary license can be obtained before start and another state license is held
• PALS preferred
• ACCS preferred
• Experience in Level IV NICU care required
• Cardiac PICU experience preferred
• Strong comfort working with neonates, infants, pediatrics, and adolescents
• Ability to thrive in a self-scheduling, team-oriented healthcare environment
• Competence with the Bunnell Jet Ventilator and HFOV 3100A required
• Flu vaccination required

Responsibilities

• Deliver respiratory care across NICU, PICU, pediatric acute care, and high-risk delivery settings
• Support advanced airway management, mechanical ventilation support, and intubation assistance
• Provide therapy and monitoring for complex neonatal and pediatric respiratory conditions
• Operate specialized respiratory equipment, including jet ventilation and high-frequency oscillatory ventilation systems
• Interpret ABGs and perform respiratory interventions such as aerosol therapy, CPAP/BiPAP support, and tracheostomy care
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and the broader multidisciplinary pediatric care team
• Respond quickly to changes in patient status using strong clinical judgment and critical thinking
• Float within scope of practice as needed to support all assigned pediatric units
• Maintain a high standard of patient safety, communication, and compassionate care
