• Setting: Hospital-based pediatric, neonatal, and critical care respiratory therapy

• Shift Duration: 12-hour day shifts

• Contract Length: 26 weeks
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,810 – $1,940
• Location: Charlottesville, VA 22908
• Schedule: Every other weekend and every other holiday; self-scheduling model
• Orientation: Included during onboarding

Job Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience required
• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required
• Experience in a Level IV NICU required
• Cardiac PICU experience preferred
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required
• Virginia respiratory therapist license required; pending license accepted if temporary license can be obtained before start
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary pediatric and neonatal care environment
• Willingness to float within scope of practice as needed
• Epic experience required
• Must be comfortable submitting required certifications and compliance documentation at time of application

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy care for neonates, infants, children, adolescents, and critically ill patients
• Support patient care in the NICU, PICU, high-risk deliveries, and acute pediatric units
• Perform and assist with advanced respiratory procedures and interventions
• Operate specialized equipment, including the Bunnell Jet Ventilator and HFOV 3100A
• Manage therapies such as CPAP, BiPAP, HFNC, tracheostomy care, aerosol therapy, and ventilator support
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to deliver safe, high-quality care
• Adapt to self-scheduling needs while maintaining weekend and holiday coverage
• Apply strong critical thinking, communication, and clinical judgment in a fast-paced hospital environment
