Job Details

- Employment Type: Travel Nurse Assignment
- Start Date: September 28, 2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
- Shift Pattern: 3 shifts per week; every other weekend
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,830 – $1,930
- Location: Alexandria, VA 22304
- Holiday Requirement: 1 major and 1 minor holiday per year
- Additional Notes: Floating may include MSICU, PCCU, and care for boarders up to four
- Epic Access: Required
Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience required
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Experience caring for complex neuro and cardiovascular critical care patients
- Ability to manage titratable vasoactive drips in a critical care setting
- Comfort reading and interpreting your own telemetry strips
- Experience with ventilators, high-flow nasal cannula, and noninvasive ventilation preferred
- Must be able to work every other weekend and float as needed
- Must be able to pass ECG exam on day 2
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill adult patients in a 16-bed ICU
- Monitor and assess patients with diagnoses including stroke, hemorrhage, respiratory failure, sepsis, ARDS, DKA, AKI, and more
- Administer and titrate drips such as norepinephrine, epinephrine, vasopressin, phenylephrine, and dopamine
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to support safe, evidence-based critical care outcomes
- Operate in a fast-paced environment with a patient ratio of 1:2
- Support patients on advanced respiratory equipment, including ventilators and BiPAP/CPAP
- Maintain accurate documentation and uphold unit standards using Epic electronic health records
- Adapt to floating expectations and provide support across assigned critical care units as needed
