- Clinical Setting: 24-bed Med/Surg unit in an acute care hospital
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Prior inpatient acute care experience required
- Basic dysrhythmia knowledge required
- Experience with Meditech EMR preferred
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute care environment
- Comfort with common medical-surgical procedures and patient care equipment
- NIHSS and BLS familiarity preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to adult Med/Surg patients
- Monitor patient status, assess changes, and communicate updates to the care team
- Perform and manage common procedures such as IVs, central lines, Foley catheters, NG tubes, drains, wound care, ostomy care, and chest tube management
- Support patient mobility and care using available equipment such as Hoyer and Sarah Steady lifts
- Document care accurately in the EMR and maintain strong clinical communication
- Collaborate with charge nurses, PCTs, and other unit staff to support efficient patient flow
- Deliver compassionate care while maintaining a professional, team-oriented attitude
