Job Requirements

• Current RN license in the state of practice or compact license
• Minimum 1 year of registered nurse experience required
• Experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred
• BLS required
• ACLS required within 6 months of hire; preferred at hire
• NIH Stroke Certification preferred
• Experience with telemetry, cardiac monitoring, and titratable drips strongly preferred
• Ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam
• Comfort working nights in a high-acuity, team-oriented environment

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care using the nursing process
• Assess patients thoroughly, identify priorities, and develop individualized plans of care
• Monitor telemetry patients and respond appropriately to changes in condition
• Care for patients with chest pain, CHF exacerbations, pre/post cardiac cath needs, and alcohol detox presentations
• Administer and titrate medications and drips as appropriate, including Cardizem, Nitro, and Heparin
• Support post-operative and medical patients with standard lines, drains, and devices
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and improve outcomes
• Educate patients and families while promoting safety, comfort, and understanding
• Maintain professionalism, adaptability, and strong communication in a fast-paced hospital setting
