Job Details
- Position: Travel Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN)
- Employment Type: Travel nursing assignment
- Location: Asheville, NC 28801
- Start Date: 09/21/2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour day shifts
- Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed hours
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910 – $2,010
- Setting: Labor & Delivery unit
- Patient Care Environment: High-acuity, team-oriented unit with 1:1 and 1:2 patient ratios
- Floating: MFMU, MOMB, NICU
- Weekend/On-Call: Not required; available upon approval
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of Labor & Delivery RN experience
- Experience caring for high-risk obstetric and maternal patients
- Immediate newborn care experience in a hospital or acute care setting
- Current RN license or credential
- BLS and ACLS/ALS certification
- NRP certification
- Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification
- Preferred: circulating experience in Labor & Delivery or OB nursing
- Outgoing, friendly, adaptable, and patient-centered approach to nursing care
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, skilled maternal and newborn nursing care for laboring patients
- Support vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, D&Cs, cerclage procedures, and C-hyst cases
- Monitor fetal status using electronic fetal monitoring systems
- Deliver immediate newborn assessment, stabilization, and support as needed
- Collaborate closely with the charge nurse, PCT, CST, and RN team members
- Maintain safe, efficient, high-quality care in a fast-paced Labor & Delivery environment
- Float to approved related areas as needed based on unit needs
